Mrs. Shair joined the firm in November 2016.
Her legal experience includes working as a legal consultant for Wanmei Properties, Inc., an attorney for the U.S. Department of Commerce, and as a judicial law clerk for the Superior Court of Connecticut with several decisions published in the Connecticut Law Reporter. During law school, she gained experience in numerous judicial, litigation, and clinic opportunities that involved substantial legal writing. Mrs. Shair has worked with a wide range of audiences, from judges to high level executives to those unfamiliar with legal processes. She has learned how to comprehensively explain the law to individuals at all levels and also how to ensure that her clients’ interests are effectively represented. Her experiences have taught her the importance of attention to detail, building rapport with clients, and making sure clients fully understand their rights.
Mrs. Shair received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in three years, with a major in Psychology and minors in Applied Developmental Psychology and Education Studies. She received her juris doctorate from Boston University with a concentration in Litigation and Dispute Resolution. At Boston University, she was a published author and note editor for the Boston University Public Interest Law Journal. She also completed the Pro Bono pledge of service, which included a service trip to New Orleans, serving those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Mrs. Shair grew up in San Jose, California, then lived around the country, starting in Los Angeles, then Boston, then New York City, Washington, D.C., and is now settled in Fremont with her family. She is married and has two young children: a daughter born in October 2014 and a son born in August 2016. As a mother of young children, she understands the importance of having one’s trust and estate needs taken care of early on and comprehensively. She likes staying active in the community and is currently a board member of the Fremont Union City Newark (FUN) Mothers’ Club in charge of Community Outreach efforts. She enjoys cooking, traveling, reading, running, and watching her children grow.
